We love an interesting beauty trend here at Advanced Aesthetics, but it’s safe to say that some trends are a bit stranger than others… and we’ve been particularly intrigued this week by the latest Instagram craze for wearing tiny little succulents on fingernails.
Luckily, it couldn’t be easier to get this look for yourself since all you have to do is go to your local garden centre, pick up a few little plants and then get creative with the glue.
It seems like this particular trend was sparked by Roz Borg, a botanical artist in Australia, who recently shared pictures of her own succulent nails on social media sites.
It’s fair to say that the look is certainly striking but if you’re after a practical manicure that you can wear day to day, then this probably isn’t it. Can you imagine going to work with plant life on your hands? How hard would it be to get anything done without depositing leaves everywhere you go?
Check out the hashtag #succulentnails on Instagram if you do want a few ideas about how to get the look for yourself. There are some beautiful shots on there (as always), so you’re bound to come away fully inspired for your next manicure.
If you do give it a try, make sure you send us some photos as we’d love to see your takes on this particular trend. Alternatively, you could always get a similar look by painting your nails to look like you’ve got succulents on them – although perhaps ask for a bit of help from a professional manicurist.
